“An Ode to Pleasure” is a project that explores the art of doing nothing. It questions our current fast paced, digital lifestyle and our definition of productivity. It examines our habitual way of seeing. It aims to aspire change in the way that we see the world around us and challenge the way that we pay attention.
It is an ode to sensitivity, awareness, quieteness, presentness and ...uselessness.
Specifically, “An Ode to Pleasure” is two minute video. A video that introduces a new way of seeing the world by creating new everyday rituals that aim to encourage us to re-discover our connection with ourselves, our daily routines, the people around us and our surroundings.
"Look back in memory and consider...how many have robbed you of life when you were not aware of what you were los ing, how much was taken up in useless sorrow, in foolish joy, in greedy desire, in the allurements of society, how little of yourself was left to you; you will perceive that you are dying before your season! ...
It is not that we have a short time to live, but that we waste a lot of it. Life is long enough "
